Unable to restore Whatsapp backup from Google drive

Dears,

When I un-install Whatsapp from my Android phone, then re-install it again - and this to restore my last full backup done on Google drive - I keep getting a screen displaying : Transfer chat history from old phone.

How can I prevent the mentioned screen from displaying, and this to go through the normal steps of restoring a backup from Google drive ?

Kindly advise.

To prevent the "Transfer chat history from old phone" screen, ensure you're using the same phone number and Google account as before when reinstalling WhatsApp. This should prompt the normal backup restoration process from Google Drive.

First of all thank you very much for your reply.

I've succeeded in solving the problem; it turned out that the Google account did not have in its 'Sync account' settings the syncing to 'Drive' (Google Drive) set; so this was the reason why after un-installing, then re-installing, the Whatsapp application did not check for the existence for a backup on the Google Drive.

( The following is the path used : Settings, Accounts and backup, Manage accounts, ' the Google account ', Sync account, Drive)

Thank you for sharing the experience. It turned out that the reason was there was no Google Drive account set in the 'Sync account' settings.
