How to add contacts to WhatsApp

Hey guys!

Have you been wondering why not all of your contacts are showing on WhatsApp and you know that they have a WhatsApp account? Here is how to add those contacts to WhatsApp:
  • Ensure that you have your friend's phone number in your phone address book in the full international format.
  • Note: WhatsApp cannot sync with Facebook friends, so you will need to manually enter their phone numbers in your address book in order for WhatsApp to find them.
  • Make sure that you have imported your contacts from your SIM card.
  • Ensure that your friend has your phone number in their address book.
  • Launch WhatsApp and wait 15 seconds.
  • Tap the icon and then tap on your friend to start chatting!
  • If you do not see your friend, try going to Menu Button > Refresh on the Select contact page.
  • Make sure your contact is not hidden.
  • It could also be that your friend doesn't even have WhatsApp, even though you thought they did, you can invite friends to WhatsApp, open the app > press the Menu Button > Settings > Contacts > Tell a Friend.

Firstly thanks for the post. As i was having too much problem in adding new contact to whatsapp. but these post helps me out.I have one more query I want to add Whatsapp Status in Hindi languages to my status. So can I Add it.

My phone numbers are all saved on my Google-account, so I don't have problems with my contacts on WhatsApps... I only have to refresh my list, but you surely have helped a lot of people. :)

You can not add contacts to whatsapp, I mean there is no special way to do it, simply just add the contact in your device and whatsapp will automatically detect it and add it to your contact list.

There is no need to add it separately, just add them to contacts & it will automatically detect the number & it will be added to whats app list. Note: the person should be active on whats app.

Ensure that you have their number saved in proper international format on your phone. ...

You have to add the contact in your phonebook first and then open Whatsapp, and click ADD, then find the contact number you want to add to your Whatsapp. try it, hope it helps

It's not that hard adding WhatsApp contacts from your Android or iPhone, actually. Just go to the "Contacts" button and add the people you want. And if you can't, maybe they are not using this app or the area code you enter is wrong.

adding contacts to WhatsApp is really tricky thanks for the post, what I do is add a contact to your phonebook with the proper city and country code like adding 00 before it, then launch WhatsApp and refresh the contact list of you've done everything correct then that contact will be shown on your wWhatsAppcontact list

  3. Open the WhatsApp app, go to the Contacts tab, and search the contact which you saved and start the chat.

I also stuck in the same problem means my friends numbers are already in my contact list but when i open what's app there is nothing as well as no option to synchronize it. After reading your post i found that my contact are in SIM card instead of phone. It may be solution of the problem which i am facing using whats app. Thanks dude....

Actually, just "Refresh" button allows us to add the contacts to WhatsApp from the phone's address book. I usually fix with this method but I have wondered how to add if the contacts are from other countries. Luckily, I solved with searching on Google.:)

1. Open the WhatsApp app.
2. Tap the Chats tab.
3. Tap the box with a pencil.
4. Tap New Contact.
5. Type in the person's first name.
6. Tap add a phone.
7. Type in your contact's phone number.

whatsapp has less features when compared to zewhatsapp .....zewhatsapp has 40 more extra feature than normal whatsapp ...check it ones....
