Whatsapp restoration of messages not working

Question

I'm facing an issue on restoring my chat history backed up in google drive(1.6Gb). I could find the back up in my drive. The issue is while logging in my whatsapp is not restoring the message history from the drive. I tried following their troubleshooting methods and still facing the same problem.The issues i'm facing in this restoration is 
1. In the starting of the logging in process itself i'm facing 2 kinds of issues
    a. it is showing no backup found from the gmail account provided (even though it is there) and asking to either skip or continue with older version 
    b. it is downloading only 259mb and showing that Restore your chats Never page.
2. it is downloading the whole 1.6gb worth of back up yet showing that the message history cannot be loaded

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times and it is not working

If you're having trouble restoring your WhatsApp backup, first make sure you're signed into the same Google account and using the same phone number. Update Google Play Services, check WhatsApp permissions for storage, and ensure enough phone space. Try clearing WhatsApp's cache and data, and switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If that doesn't work, delete the backup from Google Drive and create a new one. Hopefully, you will solve this issue.
