Samsung Galaxy S7 Active release date, price, specs, features
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active has moved from rumor to fact. The device, which focuses on those who want a device suitable for outdoor activities, will see release through AT&T on June 10. Find out everything else we know about the Samsung Active's release date, price, specs and features below.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Active release date and price
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will go on sale June 10 exclusively through AT&T. It is available in Sandy Gold, Titanium Gray and Camo Green.
There will be two choices of payment options: $26.50 a month over 30 months or $33.13 a month over 24 months, coming to $795 and $795.12, respectively.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Active specs
With the announcement of the device's release through AT&T, we also got an official specs listing, which closely mirrors what we've seen in recent leaks.
The S7 Active has a very sizable battery, coming in at 4,000 mAh. That's 400 mAh bigger than the S7 Edge.
The 5.1-inch screen is Super AMOLED and has a QHD resolution, making it the same screen as the Galaxy S7 and the S6 Active, the predecessor to the S7 Active.
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 820 backed with 4 GB of RAM – that's 1 GB bigger than the previous generation. We also see 32 GB of internal memory as standard on the device, with SD card support enabling this to be expanded up to 200 GB.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Active features
The Galaxy S7 Active has the same weatherproofing as the S7 and S7 Edge, that is IP68. On top of that it offers a military-grade body (MIL STD-810G) and a shatter-resistant screen.
The camera system on the S7 Active comprises a 12 MP rear camera, which is 4 MP smaller than its predecessor. But this is not something we need to be worried about. Samsung did this with the move from the S6 to S7 and made up for the reduced pixel count with dual-pixel technology, which is exactly what the S7 Active does. The front-facing camera is 5 MP.
What do you want to see with the Galaxy S7 Active? Let us know in the comments.
Another one who love ruggeds… i also think ip68 should be standarized soon: but its sad and true; Sansumg has gone to the dark side with those prices... i m checking those agm ... are they really that good? I have been seeing some cool specs in the X1 gold edition for the price :O !!
When are other carriers going to have the galaxy 7 active ??
Drop AT&T and then we'll talk. Carrier locked devices are unacceptable.
Slide down data was a great feature. Pix from front and rear cameras at the same time. IR blaster - the PEEL app is unbelievably handy. Removable battery. Is it launching w Marshmallow?
I wish Samsung released this unlocked as a universal phone here in the US
Removable battery & the option of mobile data in the pull down menu. Ex, in the s4 & s6 you can slide screen down to activate/deactivate mobile data along with wi-fi, screen rotation, & etc.
I Do remember when the rugged ones were a rarity! Hahaha… to me the waaay cheaper-and now better- AGM chinese models online are the way to go :) .. but this was a decent device tho its price but ll prefer to get an x1 18k gold edition xP ( i know: demanding xD )
I WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO TAKE PICTURES AT NIGHT!! HOPE TO SEE THIS SOON.
I'm ready to switch to AT&T in order to get the new one. Release it already!!!
Unlockable bootloader
OMG
I am using S7 now, it is really good experience! Looking forward to Samsung Galaxy S7 Active.
GOOD OUTDOOR VISIBILITY, BEST SMARTPHONE CAMERA, DURABLE SHATTERPROOF SCREEN, EXCELLENT BATTERY LIFE, SIMPLE TO USE PHONE
If it would only come with a removable battery and Miro SD. I would be a very happy.
68! Well, yeah , IP ratings measure the environmental protection from dirt, dust and water on various scales of intensity and prolonged exposure to the elements but you can get two AGM x1 ( even in gold 18k edition) for the price of this samsung…. And the agms got better specs :S ... is all about branding and hype and to me the S7 just dont live to the hype compared with a good phone like the x1 :(
