Hi boys & girls,
here's a hard one.
Honestly I don't believe there is a solution to my problem, but I wanted to try AndroidPIT as my last opportunity.
Many years ago I registered at WhatsApp using my then-number "A". After a few years I got a new Number "B". I inserted the new sim card and everything worked perfectly fine. But here's the issue: I forgot to change my account number from A to B via the WhatsApp "change number" function.
One month ago my Phone crashed. Fortunately I did backup all of my files a few days before that happened, including the complete "WhatsApp" directory in Android's root folder.
On my new phone I inserted my current sim card (number B) and then after WhatsApp told me there is no existing account with this number, I remembered I had forgotten something very important
So the problem is, I cannot access my original account. As I said, I backed up all of my photos, videos. That's not the problem. But since I didn't change my number officially I cannot access all of my groups.
Additionally to this I have no longer access to my old number A, my contract is cancelled and this number has been blocked for 5 years before I can make a new contract with this number.
As I already wrote, I don't think there is a solution to grant access to my original account. Am I right?
Or do you guys know any way to "tell" WhatsApp I am the owner of number A, because I have a complete backup? Or is there a possibility to (legally) change the number without sms verification?
I'd really appreciate your hints, if there is anything I can do
Cheers
Julian
