Retrieve WhatsApp messages from old number without SIM card

I have the following problem: I urgently need to access WhatsApp messages to prove that I gave someone money back. The messages are two years old and were saved on my old WhatsApp number. But I no longer have the SIM card for this number and the number has also been reassigned by the telephone provider, so I cannot request a replacement SIM card. Is there any way to access the messages somehow?

Are the messages stored in some backup file on local storage or Google Drive?

Have you tried some professional utility such as Dr.Fone? Alternatively, contact Dr.Fone's customer service and ask to see if their product will be helpful for your scenario. Good luck to you.

Unfortunately, without access to the old number, retrieving the WhatsApp messages directly may be difficult. However, if you have backups on Google Drive or iCloud linked to the same WhatsApp account, you can restore those messages by installing WhatsApp on a new device and using the backup. Otherwise, contacting WhatsApp support might be an option, but success isn't guaranteed without the old number.
