For a couple of months now, android auto isn't usable for me.
It starts normally when i connect the phone to the car (using the cable) but then, it gets disconnected, car reports "phone not responding" error message and then gets stuck in a loop of "reading USB" then "phone is not responding" and so on

I used a new cable, no luck
I connected my wife's phone to the car, it worked perfectly
I connected my phone to my friend's car, it worked perfectly
but whenever i connect my phone to my car, it doesn't work

Also, I've reaet the car's infotainment system, it didn't work
I've factory reset the phone, only installer Android auto on it but this also didn't work

car: 2017 kia forte
phone: Samsung s21 5G

Hey,

It looks like you're having trouble with Android Auto in your Kia Forte. Since it works fine with other phones and cars, the issue might be specific to your Samsung S21 5G and your car's connection. You've tried different cables and even reset your phone, so it might be worth checking for software updates for both your phone and car.
Good Luck,
Kashif

Of course, here's a more concise version of the steps to address your Android Auto issue:

USB Port: Ensure the USB port in your car is functioning.

USB Settings: Set your phone to "File Transfer" or "MTP" mode in USB settings.

Developer Options: Check USB configuration in Developer Options.

Update Android Auto: Use the latest version of the Android Auto app.

Car System Updates: Update your car's infotainment system.

Phone Updates: Keep your phone's OS up-to-date.

Check for Interfering Apps: Test Android Auto with minimal background apps.

Safe Mode: Test Android Auto in safe mode to identify app issues.

Clear Cache and Data: Clear cache and data for Android Auto app.

Support: Contact Android Auto or phone manufacturer's support.

Car Manufacturer Support: Contact your car's manufacturer for compatibility insights.

Remember, this issue could be specific to the interaction between your phone and car system, so trying these steps should help diagnose and potentially resolve the problem.
