I use WhatsApp on my computer (windows 11). My friends use smart phones. All my software is UpToDate. In the last few days my friends are getting an echo. If I use my android phone the problem does not exist. I am particularly committed to the computer version as I am able to increase the volume on my computer - I am hard of hearing. I have tried all the obvious fixes and even tried restoring Windows 11 to a much earlier date. This did not work. Can you please help as my hearing options are few?

The echo issue on WhatsApp for Windows 11 may be caused by microphone feedback or audio settings on your computer. Since the problem doesn’t exist on your Android phone, it’s likely specific to your PC setup. Try these steps:

  1. Adjust Audio Settings:

    • Lower the microphone sensitivity in Windows Settings > System > Sound > Input Devices.
    • Enable echo cancellation in your microphone settings if available.
  2. Use Headphones:

    • Using headphones can prevent feedback loops caused by built-in speakers and the microphone.
  3. Reinstall WhatsApp:

    • Uninstall and reinstall the desktop version of WhatsApp to ensure the latest updates and fixes.
  4. Test with SA WhatsApp:

    • For alternative features and updates, consider SA WhatsApp.

The echo issue might be caused by your computer’s microphone picking up sound from the speakers. Try using a headset or external microphone to isolate the audio. Also, check your audio settings in Windows and WhatsApp to ensure the correct input/output devices are selected. Updating your audio drivers and enabling echo cancellation (if available) might also help.

Hope this helps!
