I'd like help figuring out the steps I need to take to make my tablet fast, also any advice on identifying bloatware I can safely remove, disable, and on improving the update settings so unused apps aren't updating in the background, and updates are happening at times I'm not using the tablet.

I think the easiest way is to wipe cache partition as well as wipe data(factory reset) in Recovery mode after a full data backup.

Download size < 0.12 MB. But also accurate enough, ad-free & free.

Is Recovery Mode the same as Safe Mode?

How do I get into it?

Will that be a problem if my only internet connection is from this tablet?

Will I be able to get back online or will I need a secondary connection to get the tablet working again after resetting it?

Power off your Galaxy Tab A at first.
Upon phones shut off, begin holding Volume Up and Power button till you see the Samsung logo on the screen.
You are now in Recovery mode, well done.

Ok thanks!

But what about:

1) Is Recovery Mode the same as Safe Mode?

2A) Will that be a problem if my only internet connection is from this tablet?

2B) Will I be able to get back online or will I need a secondary connection to get the tablet working again after resetting it?
